The Telos Realms

What if you could see the unseen? What if the spiritual and the physical were both visible in our world? What if heaven and hell, demons and angels, and the spiritual battles we face all played out in real time in front of our eyes every day?

Set in the future, The Telos Realms imagines a world where these questions become reality. After centuries of decay and conquest, only a thin strip of land remains of the earth, known as the Telos Realms. The story follows the clash between Pseudes, the malevolent ruler of Gehenna, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, and the Kingsmen, believers in the Maker who have pledged allegiance to the King, who has already won the ultimate victory. At one end of the Telos Realms lies Watergate, the sanctuary of the faithful, while at the other end sits Sheol, a town on the edge of Gehenna. Those who leave the Watergate rarely return… Until now.

Under Monstrous Skies (Book 1)

A lost brother. An undefeatable enemy. A desperate hope. David, a devoted Kingsman, sets out from Watergate to search for his younger brother, who has abandoned their perfect homeland. David’s journey takes him to the very edges of the Telos Realms, where he must confront the encroaching darkness of Gehenna. With the help of some flightless birds and a Girl With No Name, David must travel through a hostile volcanic land, even if it means going into Gehenna itself to rescue his brother from the terrible mistake he has made.

Can David bring his brother back from a world that promises freedom but delivers only destruction? Under Monstrous Skies invites readers to wrestle with themes of redemption, sacrifice, and unwavering hope in the face of impossible odds.

Nancy Oliver | Author

Nancy Oliver, author of Under Monstrous Skies, the first book in the Telos Realms series, lives in the North East of England, but is originally from Yorkshire. Nancy has written stories since she could hold a pen, sneaking out of bed to write, snapping the lights off if she heard her mum or dad coming. She’s also spent lots of time working with young people, supporting those affected by parental addictions, working with a youth offending team, and also as a church youth worker. But by far the best job she’s had is raising her three kind and funny children, who constantly outwit her. She is married to Matt Oliver, who pastors Hardwick Baptist Church, Stockton-on-Tees, just round the corner from their house, and they have a dog called Tilly who is part-spaniel, part-rabbit.

Endorsements

“This is a gripping story, with a world that is vivid and compelling from the first page, and characters that you really believe in. The pages ripple with action and excitement, but also great emotional depth. Part Chronicles of Narnia, part Pilgrim’s Progress, this story’s biblical imagery is handled faithfully, and in a way that enriches the story, as well as showcasing what it means to follow the King. Brilliant, bold and beautiful. Can’t wait for the next installment!”
