Glean From John Bunyan : Pilgrim’s Progress & Grace Abounding
Born at Elstow near Bedford, in 1628, John Bunyan served in Parliament’s Army as a teenager in the English Civil War. After a prolonged period of spiritual conviction and conflict, as recorded in Grace Abounding, he found deliverance and peace with God, and entered a congregation in Bedford. Bunyan began preaching in 1655 until 1660, where he was brought before a Bedfordshire magistrate and detained in prison for twelve years.
Bedford prison proved to be the place of writing for Grace Abounding and Pilgrim’s Progress. In reading these writings, your eyes are raised up to the author and finisher of our faith who awakes, enlivens and sanctifies his people. Join Bunyan and contemplate these soul-refreshing truths.
